The community of Inglewood and the community of Lennox, which is an unincorporated community, are both located on the northern side of Hawthorne. The community of Gardena and the community of Athens, which is also an unincorporated community, are both located to the east of Hawthorne. The community of Del Aire, which is an unincorporated community, surrounds the community of Hawthorne on three sides, next to the westernmost edge of Hawthorne. The community of El Segundo Village, which is another unincorporated community, is located to the west of Hawthorne. The communities of Redondo Beach and Lawndale and the El Camino Village, which is an unincorporated community, are located to the south of Hawthorne. On the southwestern corner of Hawthorne is where Manhattan Beach is located.Interstate 105, also known as the Glenn Anderson Freeway and the Century Freeway runs next to the northern boundary of Hawthorne. Down the center of Interstate 105, runs the LACMTA Green Line light rail line. Interstate 405, also known as the San Diego Freeway runs next to the westernmost boundary of Hawthorne.
